Sat 30 September – EOCC Concert with a flavour of Brazil

My local choir, East Oxford Community Choir, is giving their second Concert with a flavour of my loved home country Brazil, now at my doorstep in Oxford, in Headington neighbourhood!

East Oxford Community Choir will be singing pieces by Brazilian composers Villa-Lobos, Ernani Aguiar and Ronaldo Miranda, also a piece by Oxford-based composer Marguerite Wallis.

I will be playing solo piano pieces by contemporary women Brazilian composers Marisa Rezende, Tatiana Catanzaro and Silvia Berg. 

Also, we will have special guests Julia Hollander and Peter McMullin.

Come to enjoy this Brazilian flavoured Autumn evening with us!

Entry is free, with donations for Gerontius Amenity Funds, which provides health care for poor old people in Sierra Leone.

Sat 15 July – EOCC Summer Concert with a flavour of Brazil

What a joy for me that my local choir, East Oxford Community Choir, is giving their Summer Concert 2017 a flavour of my loved home country Brazil!

East Oxford Community Choir will be singing pieces by Brazilian composers Villa-Lobos, Ernani Aguiar and Ronaldo Miranda, also a piece by Oxford-based composer Marguerite Wallis.

I will be playing solo piano pieces by Brazilian composers Marisa Rezende and Silvia Berg, and a piece by Portuguese composer Sara Carvalho for prepared piano and toy piano.

Also mezzo-soprano Julia Hollander will be singing pieces by Villa-Lobos.

Wed 22 October – The Stephen Grew Quartet and Oxford Improvisers

On Wednesday 22nd October I will play with some members of Oxford Improvisers in an unique concert alongside The Stephen Grew Quartet.

The Stephen Grew is one of the most talented improvisers in the country. He is on a special Jazz Services tour of London and selected venues. This is a quartet that has worked together on many occasions. Stephen Grew: piano, Matt Robinson: clarinets, Seth Bennett: bass, Philip Marks: percussion

There will also be music from Pat Thomas, Pete Mcphail and other leading members of Oxford Improvisers, Dan Goren, Camilla Cancantata and myself.
Not to be missed. This venue has an excellent grand piano!

Fri 21 March – Pat Thomas/ Késia Decoté – solo and duo piano music, Oxford, UK

On Friday 21st March I will be playing in a very special concert, sharing the stage with Pat Thomas, one of Britain’s finest improvisers, at St. Michael at Northgate, Oxford, UK.

On the first part of the programme I will be playing music by Villa-Lobos, Ginastera and Oxford composer Tim Chatziagiannis. On the second part, Pat Thomas will treat us with his inimitable improvisation. The concert will finish with a four-hands improvisation.

Everybody is saying: ‘this is not to be missed!’

hello UK – March 2014 tour!

Indeed I am in the UK!

I arrived safe and very happy to be back.

Now I am ready for a week full of rehearsals, excited to the upcoming concerts!

Before the first ‘official’ Késia’s concert of the tour, on Wed 12th March, I am going to join the Oxford Improvisers in their monthly gig this Tuesday 4th March. Also I will have the honour to play at Lennox House for Maternik Foundation.

De fato, eu já estou na Inglaterra! A viagem foi tranquila, e agora estou pronta para uma semana cheia de ensaios, muita animada para todos os concertos que estão por vir!

Nota

2013 was a very good year, full of music, creativity and friendship.

Now, 2014 has already begun full of good expectations!
