This Wednesday 18th May I will be presenting the project ‘My piano in the midst of the turmoil’ at Oxford Brookes TDE (Technology, Design and Environment) Research Student Conference.
‘My piano in the midst of the turmoil’ is a series of one-to-one participatory piano performances in a public circulation area. The spectator has the opportunity to choose the programme from a given repertoire of one-minute contemporary British music, then listen to my live performance there through a headphone.
This is an investigation on audience experience which inquires about the personal versus social aspects of live classical music experience. This performance is part of my PhD research on interdisciplinary strategies for the piano recital, sponsored by CNPq (Brazil).
The conference will happen from 9:30am to 2:25pm in Kennedy room, as well as in JHBB 306 and JHBB 307 rooms, at John Henry Brookes Building, Gypsy Lane Campus.
My performances will happen during coffee and lunch breaks, at 11:40am and 1:30pm.
The conference is open to everyone to attend, and free.
